The whole site is set amongst shrubs and trees. There are two terraces, two good sized ponds, two areas of dense tree planting, lots of grassy areas and well placed seating.
The first terrace is level with the cottages and has seats which overlook the ponds, river and hills beyond.
A haven for wild life one visitor recognised 29 different types of birds. The ponds usually support lots of newts, frogs and dragon fly larvae Due to the slope the views of the site are outstanding wherever you are, including from the cottages themselves. In the distance the hills are clearly visible.
